Police investigate grocery store fire

POLICE are appealing for information following a suspected arson attack in Lovely Lane, Warrington when a wheelie bin was set on fire at the back of a grocery store.
The incident took place at around 12.55am on April 4 when a wheelie bin was set on fire at the back of the Al Aqba grocery store ? causing damage to the back of the building where access can be gained to the first floor flat.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and police are investigating.
DC Laura Sadler said: “Fortunately no-one was present in the flat at the time of the fire but it could have potentially been far worse had the fire not been put out so quickly.
“We have launched an investigation in a bid to establish who is responsible and we are urging anyone with any information to come forward.
“We are also appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time and has seen anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 25 on 4 April. Information can also be left anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
