More bin collections go fortnightly

1

IN one week’s time Warrington residents with a Friday black bin collection will be moving to fortnightly bin collections.
Friday April 19 will be the start date for residents of Penketh, Great Sankey, Westbrook and Burtonwood.
The new fortnightly collection scheme will mean that one week the waste team will empty black refuse bins while on the second week recycling blue and green bins will be emptied.
An information pack and new collection sticker will be sent to each property.
Fortnightly bin collections will be introduced into all areas during the rest of this month and in May.
Next to be affected will be residents with a Tuesday black bin collection and the change will be on April 30.
Over the next month all residents will get a leaflet to explain when they are due to start with the new collections.

  1. The council should at least supply us with larger bins – especially as the council tax has increased so we are getting much less of a service – fortnightly bin collections have caused problems in other areas of the country and the streets/roads will soon be filled with overflowing bins.
