Cancer charity seeks secretary

A WARRINGTON-based charity group is appealing for someone in the local community to take on the job of voluntary secretary.
The Birchwood and Culcheth Fundraising Group of Marie Curie Cancer Care wants a volunteer to attend meetings every 4-6 weeks to take minutes, receive all correspondence and write letters of request and thanks and to joining in with fundraising and events.
Michelle Bate, community fundraiser for the charity (pictured) said: “We are looking for an individual who is organised with great communication skills to join our fantastic Fundraising group covering the Birchwood, Croft, Culcheth and Winwick areas of Warrington.
“The fundraising group raise money to support the Marie Curie Nursing Service to provide care to people terminally ill with cancer and other illnesses. The group organise small, local events such as quiz nights and coffee mornings.”
