JOOLS Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra make a return visit to the Parr Hall, Warrington, on Thursday June 27.
Special guest vocalists will include Roland Gift, of Fine Young Cannibals, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshal.
The band, which regularly plays to audiences in excess of 300,000, last performed in Warrington in 2008.
Jools started his career in the 1970s as the pianist for Squeeze. His television presenting career has run parallel to his musical career. He started this in the early 1980s when he co-presented The Tube with Paula Yates which achieved almost immediate cult status. He now presents Later With Jools Holland which offers a eclectic mix of musical styles and tastes.
In 1987 he formed The Jools Holland Big Band – comprising himself and Gilson Lavis. This metamorphosed into the current 20-piece orchestra, which consists of pianist, organist, drummer, three female vocals, guitar, bass guitar, two tenor saxophones, two alto saxophones, baritone saxophone, three trumpets, and four trombones.
Tickets, priced £35, are available from www.pyramidparrhall.com or by ringing 01925 442345.
