Shopping centre's award triumph

WARRINGTON’S Golden Square Shopping Centre has triumphed at this year’s Golden Hedgehog Awards in Manchester.
The centre beat off stiff competition from insurance giant Aviva to scoop the prestigious “Client of the Year” award for its year-long marketing campaign, “Get Creative”.
The initiative was set up to inspire young people to get involved in the arts and encourage families across the Warrington area to dedicate an extra hour a week to creative activities.
Golden Square hosted a variety of creative activities including craft workshops and singing competitions.
“Get Creative” was launched in response to nationwide cuts, which have hit arts funding for North West schools and voluntary groups.
The Golden Hedgehogs, which is sponsored by PRCA and Precise, celebrate outstanding PR campaigns throughout the North of the UK.
Golden Square General manager Ian Cox said: “Winning Client of the Year is a great honour, and we’re so proud of the ‘Get Creative’ campaign. I feel like we’ve really made a positive impact on the local community and the feedback we’ve had from shoppers and parents is fantastic.”
