Peel Hall inquiry date fixed

THE public inquiry into the controversial plan to build 150 homes at Peel Hall, Warrington, will open on May 29.
It is due to start at 10am – and is expected to last for three days.
The hearing will be in the Jubilee Suite, at the Orford Park Jubilee Hub.
Warrington Borough Council’s development management committee voted unanimously to refuse planning consent for the development.
But the inquiry is based on an appeal by developers Satnam Millennium on the grounds of the council’s failure to determine their application within the required time scale.
In the meantime, the Fight Against Peel Hall Development Committee says new information has recently come to light.
Committee members have written to the Planning Inspectorate requesting that these issues be taken into consideration.
One member said: “I have invited the planning inspector to visit my property so that I can point out several important issues first hand. It is one thing to look at a map and read evidence but another to walk about the site and surrounding area”
Cllr Geoff Settle, who was one of those who spoke against the proposals at the development management committee, said: “There is still an opportunity to submit additional information.
“If you made any comments at the application stage, Warrington Borough Council will send them to the Planning Inspectorate on your behalf.
“However if you wish to make any additional comments you should write to The Planning Inspectorate, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN (enclosing 3 copies of the letter, by quoting reference APP/M0655/A/13/2192076/NWF by Wednesday March 20.”
