95% of pupils get first choice school

AN impressive 95 per cent of pupils from Warrington’s primary schools have been offered a place at their first choice high school.
Overall, 99.3 per cent of children were offered one of their three stated preferences, by the borough council’s school admissions team.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, the council’s executive members for children and young people’s services, said: “These fantastic figures demonstrate that the authority operates a very effective admissions service that is able to respond to community needs.”
Year Six pupils across the county moving up to high school this September have been receiving their allocation letters.
The allocation date for primary school places is mid-April.
