Chance to have your say on town's health

WARRINGTON residents can have their say on the future of the town’s health services at a special drop-in session next week.
The meeting, called by Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), will be at The Gateway, Sankey Street, between 11am and 1pm on Wednesday March 13.
CCG is responsible for planning and commissioning healthcare services for the town.
Ten key areas have been selected to ensure the work is done effectively to meet the needs of local people. They are primary care, urgent care, planned care, preventing premature deaths, end of life, children and young people, frail older people, long-term conditions, mental health and medicines management.
Warrington residents have the opportunity to talk to those who have developed the plans to find out more, ask questions and give feedback.
Dr Sarah Baker, (pictured right) chief clinical officer at Warrington CCG, said: “Engaging with local people about the healthcare services they need and want is a vital part of our work.
“This drop-in session is designed to help people understand what we plan to commission during 2013/14 and why, and enable them to provide us with valuable feedback. There will also be visual representations of the plans to help people get a real feel for what Warrington healthcare will look like in the future and how we intend to get there.”
The draft commissioning intentions are available to view on the website www.warringtonccg.nhs.uk under “about us” where people can feedback through a short online survey.
The drop-in session will be followed by the CCG governing body meeting, which the public are welcome to attend and observe. This takes place at The Gateway at 1.30pm. The agenda and papers for the meeting are available in the public information section of the website www.warringtonccg.nhs.uk

  1. Yet again during most people's working day – when will those in the public services realise that they are there to serve everyone. It is the same with the council's bin roadshow.
