New cycle route planned

2

PLANS have been drawn up at Warrington for a new east-west cycle route linking key places of employment, leisure and education.
The proposed “greenway” between Westbrook Crescent and Sankey Valley Park will form part of an overall east-to-west cycle route connecting the Great Sankey and Birchwood area.
It is the latest innovation to come out of a multi-million grant awarded to the borough council last May from the government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund to spend on green transport projects to improve access to jobs and training across the borough.
Plans will be available for inspection at a community event at Dallam Children’s Centre, Boulting Avenue on Wednesday, March 6 between 2pm and 8pm.
Transportation officers will be on hand to answer questions and gather feedback to inform the final design.

  1. Amazing that the council can get money for this sort of nonsense to keep the lycra warriors happy (add to it the £700,000 on 20mph speed limits) and yet we have no money to provide free transport for pensioners to day centres…. Disgusting and disgraceful; but it will never change as long as these liberal attitudes continue to blight the country
