Three storey offices approved

PLANNING bosses at Warrington have given the go-ahead for a three-storey office building for the UK’s largest social housing provider.
The building, which will stand some 14.77 metres high, will be off Birchwood Way, Birchwood Park, Warrington.
It is to be purpose-built for Your Housing Group – the new group formed by the merging of Harvest Housing and Arena Housing last year.
The group is responsible for some 32,000 properties.
The borough council’s development management committee approved the scheme after hearing the building would be of contemporary design, similar to other recent development in the Birchwood Park complex.
There will be a central plaza in front of the entrance to the building that will provide an amenity area for staff.
It will incorporate hard landscaping, feature planting and areas of seating.
Perimeter landscaping will be provided around the site, comprising a grass border, new and retained trees.
Councillors were told the site was likely to be contaminated, due to its previous use.
However, conditions would be imposed to ensure these problems would be addressed.
A proposed landscaping scheme would enhance the appearance of the site, providing complementary planting along the sensitive Birchwood Way frontage.
The site is not at risk of flooding.
