Rotary chief visits Peace Centre

THE President of Rotary International in Britain and Ireland John Minhinick was special guest at Warrington’s Peace Centre as part of an international peace campaign being backed by the Rotary movement.
RIBI President John and his wife Sheila visited the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace accompanied by District Governor Colin Ince and his wife Cally and Warrington Rotarian Malcolm Ross, District 1280 World Community Service Chair.
RIBI President John, is a member of the Rotary Club of Burntisland & Kinghorn, Fife and has been a member of Rotary for over 20 years.
His visit to the Peace Centre was linked to the 20th Anniversary of the Warrington Bombings and also coincides with the Rotary International theme of RI President Sakuji Tanaka of “Peace Through Service”.
Meanwhile RIBI President John was joined by other members of the District 1280 Team at the District International Rally & Project Fair, at Swinton Masonic Hall where peace campaigner Colin Parry OBE, who was a member of Warrington Rotary Club and also received a “World Understanding &Peace Award” from Rotary International in Osaka, Japan several years ago, was guest speaker.

Pictures show President John being welcomed at the Peace Centre by Foundation for Peace Chief Executive Nick Taylor, watched by Rotarian Malcolm Ross and District Governor Colin Ince and Colin Parry at the rally where he was guest speaker.
