Getting in touch with the council

4

WARRINGTON Borough Council is to get a new telephone number for general enquiries.
From Tuesday, April 2 the number to call will be 01925 443322.
The long-standing 444400 number will have automated voice options in place after this date to redirect callers to a customer services advisor. The number will, however, remain in place as the council’s designated emergency out of hours contact number.
Residents and businesses are reminded that they can complete a wide range of tasks online via the council’s improved website launched last summer. These include reporting issues and faults, requesting services and paying bills.

  1. They won’t get many calls then.

Don’t they realise that we are fed up to the back teeth with all these options. We just want to talk to a home based voice. Or maybe they do and are trying to put people off from ringing them. Another saving that is anti-social.

    MORE TAX = LESS SERVICE!!!

  2. How customer friendly is that? It is simply a synical attempt to prevent residents from making calls. Residents are totally fed up with type of alterations that do absolutely nothing to improve customer service!

  3. Blimey it’s only a phone number so what’s the problem if you have to ring 443322 instead of 444400. The ‘new’ number isn’t actually ‘new’ though as it’s the one for ‘Contact Warrington’ (Horsemarket Street) who deal with all sorts of things……and you get put through to them most of the time if you ring the other number anyway. I’ve used the ‘new’ number many times in the past to report faulty street lights, fly tipping and potholes and also for general enquiries. They staff there are extermely helpful and very friendly !!

  4. I interpreted the report as being two numbers – the old one with “automated voice options ” and a new one with a standard service – which would be useful to anyone with speech difficulties. If that is the case then it sounds like an improvement.
