Residents asked how to spend £1million?

1

MEETINGS will be held today (Tuesday) and next week in Latchford, Warrington, to look at how £1million in Big Local Funding should be spent.
The money awarded last year via the Big Lottery Fund is for residents in Latchford East (Westy) to make a positive and lasting difference to their communities.
Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture at the council, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity so if you have an idea or vision of how Latchford East can put this money to good use, come along to a session and find out more.
“This project puts local people in charge and I’d encourage as many residents as possible to get involved to help shape the future.”
A meeting will be held today at Westy Community Centre from 10am to12 noon and on Tuesday February 19 from 6pm to 7pm.

  1. Amazing. Every road in the area is full of potholes and ONE area have to decide how to spend £1 million. People need to get the priorities right.

Very convenient how Westy moved into Warrington Central Neighbourhood, was that so that they qualified? They have TWO large Community Centres plus the support of Community Development officers, whilst their neighbours don’t have this. Good luck to Westy, I hope they spend it wisely. They have hard working councillors that help to achieve these things. Just remember that the area extends past the village almost as far as Stockton Heath.
