Police commissioner to hold surgeries

CHESHIRE’S Police and Crime Commissioner is to hold two “surgeries” in Warrington to give local people to discuss policing issues with him face-to-face.
The Commissioner, John Dwyer, will be Lymm Library on February 19, Davies Way from 10am to 12 noon and at the Gateway, Sankey Street, Warrington the same day from 2pm to 4pm.
Mr Dwyer said: “A crucial part of the Commissioner’s role is to be accessible, to gather people’s opinions and concerns and to hold the Chief Constable to account on their behalf.
“Since being elected last November I have learned a great deal about people’s views on policing. I have talked to many people as we carried out street surveys, including one in Warrington, at public meetings and at other events.
“Surgeries provide a more confidential setting. If there is an important policing issue which you are concerned about, please make an appointment and use this opportunity to discuss it with me.”
Register to attend either event at www.Cheshire-pcc.gov.ukor call 01606 364000.

  1. When councillors hold surgeries , people are able to just turn up – is John Dwyer above that sort of thing. Will there be a filtering process to stop anyone asking awkward questions – such as what is your job for or how does it feel to have only 5% of the electorate supporting you. I hope someone has provided him with directions for these venues as when he was outside Golden Square he went to the wrong bit (Hilden Square was not the advertised location)
