A ROADSHOW to help showcase plans to improve cancer services in Cheshire and Merseyside is heading to Warrington.
The Action on Cancer trailer will visit the town next week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
Roadshows are being organised by NHS Cheshire, Warrington and Wirral with the aim of giving people information about how the NHS hopes to bring world class cancer facilities to the region.
Plans are currently being developed to extend the specialist services on offer at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Wirral by opening an additional comprehensive cancer centre next to the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Dr Nicky Thorpe, acting medical director, the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre said: “The development of a new comprehensive cancer centre will be the single biggest step towards developing world class services for our region.
“The roadshow is a great opportunity to find out more about these exciting proposals and raise any questions before we seek formal views next year.”
A video explaining the changes and the benefits they would bring will be played, while volunteers from the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, local involvement networks and local cancer support groups will be on hand to answer any questions.
The Action on Cancer Trailer will visit Westbrook Shopping Centre on January 31, Cockhedge Shopping Centre on February 1 and Warrington Town Centre on February 2.
Roadshow will highlight cancer services
