WORRIED neighbours are opposing plans to build a detached house with basement garage in the garden of a bungalow.
They claim the property – which will have a third floor in the roof space and balconies – will dominate the area and rob surrounding homes of privacy.
The development is planned for the garden of a bungalow in Hob Hey Lane, Culcheth.
Four neighbours have objected – along with Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
The parish council says the height and design of the building is out of character with the area and adjacent properties and will cause overlooking and a loss of privacy.
They also believe it could add to existing traffic problems in Hob Hey Lane.
Neighbours claim the property would effectively be a three-storey house.
But planning officers are recommending that the borough council’s planning committee approve the plan, which they regard as a “small-scale, low impact infill development” which would be of an acceptable design.
