SlyDigs back in town

RECENTLY-signed band SlyDigs return to Warrington on Friday November 30 to take part in a showcase of local talent.
WArrington Music (WAM) aims to showcase the talent of original artists from the town through its blog and a series of live showcases – including the one at Friars Court.
A band spokesperson said: “Faced with the building site or the dole queue, lead singer Dean Fairhurst and lead guitarist Louis Menguy of SlyDigs took it upon themselves to form what would be the enigmatic rock ‘n’ roll band they are today.
“Now signed to Flickknife Records, they have found their debut album being sold in HMV and causing a stir amongst the establishment. The band is completed by Ben Breslin (bass) and Peter Fleming (drums).”
The showcase is split into two parts – a 6pm to 9pm show is open to all ages, and a 9.30pm show is for over 18s.
Local bands Loor A Los Heroes and Back to Basics play both shows, with special guests Kye Jones and Dan Solan taking on a show each.
Founder of WAM Lee Harman, 24, said he hopes the events will put Warrington “back on the map for live music.”
Future WAM plans include a free compilation album and an acoustic event in the town centre on December 15.
