Christmas starts tonight!

WARRINGTON’S Christmas starts tonight – with the switch-on of the town’s festive lights.
The switch-on will be by Cbeebies favourites Mister Maker, Mr Bloom and Fireman Sam and activities will start in the town centre from 3pm at Market Gate.
From then on, the town centre will be ablaze with lights and special Christmas activities right up the big day itself.
Santa Claus will be in the Golden Square shopping centre from Saturday, November 24 and on Thursday, November 29 there will be a gift and craft fair in the town centre.
Saturdays will be special days, with live reindeer, snowmen and break-dancing Santas.
Carol singing will add to the atmosphere throughout next month and on Thursday, December 13 there will be a lantern parade from Queen’s Gardens to the Town Hall.
Parr Hall and Pyramid will be a variety of shows – including the annual visit by comedian Ken Dodd whose show on December 13 is expected as usual to extend into the following day.
The weekend of December 13-14 will see “Christmas in the Cultural Quarter” with local restaurants, bars, etc offering the best the town has to offer in food and drink in Queen’s Gardens.
