FOUR men fled empty-handed after failing in a bid to rob an 18-year-old man in a Warrington park.
The attempted robbery was in Woolston Linear Park at about 4.15pm on Monday, November 12.
Police today appealed for witnesses of the attack which left the victim with minor injuries but not requiring hospital treatment.
The victim was walking in the park, heading in the direction of Whitchurch Close, when he was approached by two men.
They tried to steal a bag he was carrying and assaulted the victim. Two other men then joined in the attack – but all four ended up fleeing the scene empty handed.
All four offenders were in their late teens to early 20s and between 5ft 9 inches and 6ft tall. Two were of slim build, one stocky and one of average build.
They were all wearing trainers and tracksuit bottoms although one, who wore spectacles, was wearing blue shorts
DC Simon Fisher, who is investigating the incident, said: “The victim received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment. We are currently following up a number of enquiries in relation to the attempted robbery and would appeal to anyone may have been in the park at the time and may have witnessed what happened or may have seen something significant to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
