Dog-owner evicted from home

A MAN who defied a court injunction prohibiting him from keeping a dog at his home at Warrington has been evicted.
The man was found to have breached the injunction, stolen property belonging to Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) and repeatedly refused access to staff to allow them to inspect his home.
Officers from GGHT attended the property in Bexhill Avenue, Orford, along with court bailiffs and police officers and changed the locks after obtaining a warrant for possession from Warrington County Court.
GGHT had previously obtained an injunction against the tenant prohibiting him from keeping a dog in his property.
A GGHT spokesman said: “Unfortunately the tenant failed to act on this and anti-social behaviour officers at the Trust obtained evidence that he had breached this injunction.
He was also found to have stolen property belonging to the Trust and repeatedly refused access to staff to allow them to carry out an inspection of his property.”
The former tenant has been excluded from applying for housing with GGHT and faces costs in excess of £1,000 if he ever wishes to be considered for re-housing.
GGHT’s head of neighbourhoods, James Bacon said: “I am delighted with this result, which follows a great deal of hard work by our anti-social behaviour team. The successful eviction of this tenant should send out a clear message to anyone else thinking of misbehaving that GGHT will not stand for this and will pursue them by the strongest means possible under the law”.
