Police hunt attackers

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an incident on Friday where a man was assaulted and punched in the head during an attempted robbery.
At about 3.15pm the 33-year-old man was walking along Milton Grove, Latchford, when two men approached him and assaulted him.
They attempted to steal the bag he was carrying but were disturbed by passers-by and fled along a footpath. They did not take anything.
The victim suffered cuts and bruising to his face and attended Warrington Hospital for treatment.
The first man is described as white, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build and brown hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top with a blue stripe down the arms.
The second man is described as white, in his late 20s, about the same height, with a stocky build and brown hair. He was wearing a dark grey jacket.
Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 648 of November 2, 2012.
