Knifeman robs boys

A MAN armed with a knife threatened a group of young boys at Warrington – pushing one to the ground and robbing another of his mobile phone.
The robbery took place in Sankey Valley Park, near the bandstand area on Sunday, October 28 at about 4.14pm.
Police today issued an appeal for witnesses or information about the incident.
The boys were approached by the man who was wielding a knife.
He confronted them, stole one of their mobiles and pushed a 15-year-old to the ground before running off in the direction of the maze within the park.
DC Simon Fisher of Warrington CID said: “No one was injured in the incident but the victims were left shaken by their ordeal.
“We take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will do all we can to trace the offender.”
The offender was in his mid 20s, about 5ft 7 inches tall and of a skinny build. He had short dark brown hair which was shaved and had stubble on his face. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.
