School dinners league

PRIMARY schools in Warrington are to go head-to-head in a contest to sign up most pupils for school dinners.
Throughout next month, they will be ranked in a super league table – and the school which achieves the biggest increase in the number of meals served will get a visit from Warrington Wolves winger Chris Riley.
Chris will present them with a prize for coming first in the challenge and treat pupils to a PE session.
The winning school will also win a signed Warrington Wolves “Wolf it up” apron and a goody bag full of surprises.
The competition will help launch the school meals catering service autumn-winter menu which is packed with healthy, home-cooked food backed by the Wolves.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, the borough council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “The schools are going head to head to get as many children signed up as possible. The catering service is committed to providing pupils with nutritional meals and we’re delighted the Wolves are supporting this.”
