Weekend of adventure for scouts

A WEEKEND packed with adventure, including kayaking, shooting and archery, was enjoyed by Culcheth scouts.
The 3rd Warrington East Scout Group scouts enjoyed a busy weekend and the cubs joined them for an adventure day.
Other activities on offer included climbing and walking over a rope bridge.
One of the leaders said: “As the scouts found out it can be quite an adventure pitching their tent and cooking over an open fire for us adults as well as themselves!
“Once the camp was set up it was time to don the climbing harness and investigate the climbing wall. Back on site a kind adult had started seeing to their second supper before they were chased off to their sleeping bags.”
On the Saturday scouts were up early lighting fires and cooking. Raft building and sailing followed, testing knotting skills and providing lots of fun and an excuse to get wet. After lunch they enjoyed a hike using a map and compass for navigation.
Activities continued on Sunday, and after the tents were put away there was a last chance to try the obstacle course.
The group is looking for adults who would like to join the adventures as helpers or leaders. Anyone interested should contact Christine on 07729784121 or Rob at [email protected]
