Road works start today

WORK starts today on major pipe works on the A49 Winwick Road, Warrington.
It is expected the work, to be carried out by United Utilities, will take up to nine days.
It will require closure of about 100m of the inside lane of the outbound carriageway, near Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.
The Warrington-based utilities company laid a new 600mm water main in the area over the summer and it will now be connected to the rest of the network, the work being carried out during half term in an attempt to minimise disruption.
Roadside signs will be displaying updates for the duration of the works, and motorists should allow a little longer than usual to travel during this time or seek alternative routes.
