Objections to stable plan

PLANNING chiefs are to visit the site of a proposed stables development off Higher Lane, Lymm, after hearing of objections from Lymm Parish Council and nearby residents.
The scheme involves a timber building consisting of three stables and a tack room for private recreational use.
Members of the borough council’s planning committee will inspect the site before deciding if the project can go ahead.
The scheme was originally submitted early in the year but was withdrawn because of concerns that the building would be too close to houses in Oughtrington Lane. But it has now been revised to locate the stables 160m from the nearest dwelling.
The parish council believed it would be an intrusive development in the Green Belt and its proposed access onto Higher Lane would be dangerous.
Objections from three neighbours cite noise, disturbance, pollution, vermin, loss of privacy, floodlights, and parking issues.
Officers are recommending the scheme be approved. They point out the facility is not for commercial use but for small-scale, private recreational use.
