New strategy for volunteering

A NEW strategy to develop a “healthy and vibrant” base for volunteering in Warrington is open for public consultation.
Warrington Borough Council has been working with partners to develop a new draft volunteering strategy aimed at creating a stronger and more sustainable volunteering culture across the borough.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said during the Olympics more than 70,000 volunteers gave a total of eight million hours to support the games.
She said: “Locally we need ensure that Warrington has a healthy and vibrant base for volunteering in the future. This is what this joint strategy aims to do.”
The draft document is available to view on the council’s website and feedback is welcome before Friday August 31.

  1. WBC not interested in “Volunteers” they are simply using this as a way to save money. If they spent as much effort in looking after residents of the Borough and carrying out their wishes the Town would be a very much better place.
