Man attacked and robbed in park

A 44-year-old man was taken to hospital at Warrington after being attacked and robbed in a park.
He was punched in the face, suffering a broken cheekbone, and his mobile phone was stolen.
The attack took place in Victoria Park, off Knutsford Road, Warrington on Thursday, August 16 at about 10pm.
Police today appealed for information following the incident.
The victim was walking through the park and passed a group of teenagers, about 18-years-old and wearing dark clothing.
One of the group engaged him in conversation before another attempted to steal his mobile phone.
He was then punched in the face and his mobile phone and cash were stolen.
DC Carl Davis of Warrington CID said: “We would appeal to anyone who was in the park at this time who might have witnessed this incident or has any information which might help with our enquiries to come forward.”
The incident was not reported to police until three days after the attack.

  1. I cannot understand why the police take so long before appealing to the public.

    there would be more chance of someone remembering the last 24 hrs than a week ago.
