Shoppers' vote gives charity a boost

A LYMM charity is set to benefit from a year’s fundraising – following a vote by local shoppers.
Lymm Youth and Community Association has been chosen as Sainsbury’s new local charity partner for the coming year, following the vote by customers in the Lymm store.
The partnership officially launched at the end of July and customers can now choose to make a donation in-store to the association, whose headquarters are just round the corner in Bridgewater Street.
The charity helps local groups by providing a place to meet, including Senior Socials, Dance Classes, Film Club and Youth Activities.
Last year’s charity partner was Lymm Village Hall Pre-School, and they benefited to the tune of £600, which will go towards new equipment, such as cameras and a printer.
Store manager Allen Wales said: “Lymm Youth and Community Association is such a worthy local cause and we’re pleased and proud to be supporting it over the next 12 months. We’ll be letting our customers know of our fundraising plans in-store and we hope they can join our colleagues in helping support them”.
