A special fund-raising golf day in aid of Warrington Town FC proved so successful it is set to become an annual event.
Taking place at Malkins Bank Golf Club, Sandbach and organised by club director Kevin Read, the event raised more than £1,500 for club funds.
The inaugural winners of the Warrington Town Golf Day Challenge were back of shirt sponsors the Tailormade Group, with partner Alistair Burns in particular fine form, with the best round of the day.
Runners up were short sponsors Peak Associates, with plumbing merchants Trinity, featuring former Warrington Town Wembley legend Ian Kinsey in the team, coming third.
A total of 16 teams took part in the event which is an important fund-raiser in the build up to the start of the new season which kicks off on Saturday August 18.
Before then Warrington play a number of high profile pre-season friendlies, including the visit of Premier League Stoke City on Thursday July 19, kick off 7.30pm and the annual Peace Cup against Crewe United from Lisburn, Northern Ireland on Saturday, August 4, kick off 3pm.
