Wind orchestra's world premiere

A WORLD premiere commissioned by the Warrington-based North Cheshire Wind Orchestra is to be performed by the orchestra at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on Saturday, June 30
The work is entitled “Runcorn Bridge” and has been composed by Gary Carpenter, professor of composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Other works to be included in the concert are Festive Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich, Huntingtower by Ottorino Respighi and Dances from Crete by Adam Gorb.
The concert starts at 7.30pm with a pre-concert talk at 6.50pm.
The North Cheshire Wind Orchestra is a symphonic wind orchestra based in South Warrington with a membership of around 40 players.
