Lymm May Queen parade

LYMM Village was red white and blue for the annual Lymm May Queen parade

which jointly celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.
The threat of rain held off as hundreds of people representing various community groups paraded through the village, joined by the Mayor of Warrington Cllr Steve Wright.
Town Crier and local parish councillor Peter Powell led the parade through the village centre before leading it on to the May Queen field for the crowning ceremony.
Abbie Widdowson, aged 11, from Ravenbank Primary School and Jessica Hill, aged 9 from Statham Primary School were crowed May Queen and Rose Queen respectively.
