Foster care campaign launched

A NEW foster carer charter and recruitment campaign has been launched in Warrington as part of Foster Care Fortnight (14-27 May), a national campaign that raises awareness of fostering.
Warrington’s Fostering Service has produced the foster care charter in consultation with foster carers and children in care in Warrington and is a pledge and commitment by the service to their carers.
The new recruitment campaign focuses on how fostering positively changes lives both for children and foster carers. The campaign also aims to raise awareness that foster carers are all very different, single, working, retired, younger, older, same sex, what matters is your desire to help local children.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, executive board member for children and young people, said: “The charter is just one of the many ways that the service shows their commitment to their foster carers. We hope this new campaign encourages local people to contact us to find out more information. Our children and young people thrive on the warmth, kindness and support of their foster carers. Without them we could not give the youngsters in our care the help they deserve, and we have committed to supporting our carers in every way we can.”
The service will be hosting a number of recruitment events across the town during the fortnight. Come along to meet real foster carers to find out more information about fostering in Warrington:
