Love Where You Live campaign

WARRINGTON residents are being asked to “Love Where You Live” as part of a new campaign to tackle litter, fly tipping and dog fouling.
The borough has been chosen as an Ambassador Partner in Keep Britain Tidy’s new national Love Where You Live campaign. It aims to get businesses, organisations and individuals to make the place where they live, work and play the best it can be.
The focus is on anti-littering and the Warrington campaign is also tackling dog fouling and fly tipping, and is encouraging residents to report instances to the council’s environmental crime team.
People who are already “local environment heroes” have been chosen to feature in advertising across the borough.
There will be a series of festivals and events during the summer to promote the campaign.
Cllr David Keane, (pictured) executive member for environment and public protection, said: “The campaign can only work with the support of everyone in the community.
“As the stars of our campaign show, Warrington people already take great pride in the town and with the help of enthusiastic local people Love Where You Live will make even more of a positive difference to the places where people live, work and play.”
Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador Kirstie Allsopp said: “I wish Warrington the best of luck with their Love Where You Live activities and encourage all local people to get behind the campaign.”
People are being asked to report incidents of littering, dog fouling and fly tipping to the environmental crime team on 01925 443322 or email [email protected]
