Planners visit beauty salon

COUNCILLORS are to visit a beauty salon – but only to study the outside of the building.
Members of Warrington’s planning committee are to carry out a site inspection at Uber Beauty, in London Road, Stockton Heath where a non-illuminated fascia sign has been erected without planning consent.
Stockton Heath Parish Council objected to a retrospective application for permission to erect the sign on the grounds it is overbearing on the street scene, could distract motorists and pedestrians and also set a precedent for more similar signs.
A plan to use the former house as a beauty salon was approved retrospectively last year.
Planning officers are recommending the sign be approved and say they can see no detrimental impact on visual amenity, public or highway safety.
But the committee will look for themselves before reaching a decision.
