Planners to inspect house scheme

PLANNING chiefs are to visit the site of a proposed large, detached house which a developer wants to build where a bungalow was demolished without permission.
Members of Warrington’s planning committee will inspect the site before deciding if the scheme can go ahead.
Neighbours claim the proposed house in Chelford Close, Stockton Heath would be too large and overbearing and would be out of character with existing homes.
Because it includes rooms in the roof space, it wouldl effectively be a three-storey property, they argue.
They also question the accuracy of measurements in the submitted plans.
But planning officers are recommending Warrington’s planning committee should approve the scheme.
They say the fact the bungalow was demolished without consent is not a reason for refusing the new proposal.
The original building had no great aesthetic or historic merit and the new property will be more comparable with neighbouring houses.
As the original bungalow has already been demolished, the application should be treated as being for a new building, officers say.
The application will be considered again at the next meeting of the committee.
