Helping autistic adults

IMPROVING the lives of adults with autism is the aim of a consultation exercise being carried out at Warrington.
Leading the consultation is the borough’s autism partnership board, made up of representatives from the borough council, key public services, autism charities and organisations and the local autism support group WASP.
The board is currently developing a local autism strategy for adults to improve services that are available and wants people with autism and their friends/family to share their experiences and suggest how services can be developed so they are more suited to supporting individual needs.
The strategy will focus on key areas including: diagnosis, relationships, housing, education, employment and recreation.
There are a number of ways people can take part in the consultation.
They can complete an online questionnaire at www.warrington.gov.uk/ascconsultation or attend autism engagement events to find out about local services and share views on how they could be improved.
These are The Gateway, Sankey Street, Warrington on Wednesday, April 18 at 1pm-3pm and 6.15pm-8.30pm.
Places should be booked by ringing 01925 443579 or emailing [email protected]
The consultation ends on May 2.
