PLANNING bosses have given the go-ahead for a new road, pedestrian bridge and overspill parking at Warrington’s Orford Park
The bridge, over Longford Brook, will allow access to and from additional parking to serve Orford Park and the nearby Warrington Collegiate.
Overspill parking will serve the Orford Jubilee Park Community Hub.
The borough council’s planning committee was told 203 additional car parking spaces would be provided to meet a likely demand for overflow parking for the Orford Park development.
It would also be needed for special events up to 12 times a year at the Collegiate.
Councillors approved the scheme after hearing the land was already being used as an informal overspill parking area, with about 50 vehicles parking there on occasions.
