  1. If the club wants to bring football league status to the town, why sack a manager who has gotten us so close to the play-offs and seems to have it all sorted for next season? I really don’t get it. Is there a replacement lined up? If not, this is ridiculous.

  2. The point is that close to the play-offs isn’t good enough. We’re no better this season than last, and the number of good standard players who have left are perhaps an indication of the lack of belief in moving up the leagues within the current setup. It’s a bold move. May backfire, but play-offs needs to be a minimum target next season.

  3. Wire Warrior.

Those comments were made 12 months ago. I’m sad to see Joey and Stuart go, BUT this season has been dismal after the progress made last season until everyone gave up near the end. The club has spent years fighting relegation. That doesn’t mean it is ok to play mid table football for the next few years.

  4. There has been masssive improvements from last season. Amazing 12 game run only a fortnight ago for example. Got Manager of the Month last month and deserved it the month before too. Still in a strong enough position this season, too, and this will have just killed off momentum and any chance of going up this season. Why sack a manager in March when there is still a good chance of play-off positions if we can get results to go our way? This isn’t top level football.

Sacking the manager has ended our season before it was over. Simple.
