Fire crews avert explosion

SWIFT action by fire crews prevented an explosion after fire broke out at industrial premises at Warrington.
The blaze was at Kingsland Grange, Woolston and involved a propane powered forklift truck.
Firefighters from Birchwood, one wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet and managed to prevent the flames from reaching the propane gas cylinder.
No-one was hurt.
In another incident, fire crews from Warrington and Birchwood dealt with a crash involving two cars on the motorway at Birchwood.
One driver was trapped and released by firefighters and taken to hospital. The other was treated for shock at the scene.
Three lanes of the motorway were closed for a time.
