THE Well Warrington Network is organising a special photographic competition to help promote its work in the community.
The “ not for profit” organisation, that works with deprived groups, such as the chronically ill, disabled people, carers and people with mental health problems, mainly in deprived areas of Warrington, providing complementary therapies to people who would not normally be able to afford them.
The Big Lottery funded organisation has also received funding from Stronger Together Warrington and Warrington Council and been running a successful project in Orford since May 2011,involving more than 30, mainly chronically ill and disabled people having had over 200 treatments.
The service users have reported better sleep patterns, using less sleep and pain medication, feeling more confident in themselves and generally having a better quality of life, due to the work of the Well Warrington Network.
All the profits from the treatments are ploughed back into other community projects, so that more Warrington residents in need receive help.
The photographic competition themed “Bringing Colour to Warrington”, is being run to help raise awareness and funds with the winning images being reproduced as greeting cards to be sold.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the website www.wellwarringtonnetwork.co.uk.
The entry rules can also be found along with some of the great prizes that are being offered.
