Day nursery serving up success!

A day nursery is hoping to produce the Wimbledon stars of the future after starting new mini tennis lessons.
Tennis coach Gary Ward and his wife Philippa bought the Old Vicarage Day Nursery off the Diocese of Chester back in 1995 with the idea of living in the house and converting the ground floor into a Nursery.
The day nursery opened the following year and the business has gone from strength to strength and has grown from a 25 place nursery to 64 places.
Gary and Philippa moved out after their own children had been through the nursery, which is celebrating its 16th birthday with an open day on March 17 from 10.30am – 4.00pm.
The nursery prides itself in its curriculum and recently added the additional activity of mini tennis to the pre-school children’s busy day.
Through their tennis sessions, the youngsters are learning balance, agility and co-ordination, as well as building their self confidence and social skills.
Through playing games they are being encouraged to share and take turns helping them to develop their language and numeracy.
“Hopefully we will have some young budding Wimbledon stars of the future,” said Philippa.
