Lib Dem's announce experienced team

THE Liberal Democrats have announced their team of candidates to contest borough council seats in Warrington South in the May elections.
They are all experienced councillors – some with more than 20 years council service.
At Appleton, ex-Mayor Cllr Brian Axcell will be seeking re-election.
An Oxford graduate, he is a chartered engineer and retired university lecturer.
He has lived in Appleton for 36 years, has been a borough councillor for 21 years and a parish councillor for a year longer.
Former Latchford West councillor Ted Finnegan will be contesting the Grappenhall and Thelwall ward, where he has lived for 40 years.
A retired purchasing manager, he has been a parish councillor for 24 years and was a borough councillor for 11 years and was deputy mayor at the time he lost his seat last year.
Ann Raymond, a child protection consultant, trainer and author, will contest the Stockton Heath ward.
She has been a councillor in the past and is currently a Friend of the Walton Estate and a primary school governor.
Former executive board member Roy Smith will fight the Great Sankey South seat.
A retired management accountant, he has lived in the ward for 20 years, is a governor or two local schools and if chairman of Golden Gates Housing Trust.
He represented Great Sankey North for 11 years.
Whittle Hall’s candidate will be Cllr Kevin Reynolds. He has lived in the area for 17 years and works in the public sector for the magistrates’ courts. He has been a borough councillor for four years and also a member of Great Sankey Parish Council.
