MP Helen Jones has accused the Tory Health Secretary of refusing to listen to the concerns of nurses and GPs over the controversial Health and Social Care Bill.
The Warrington North MP (pictured) attacked Health Secretary Andrew Lansley after a Commons debate on the Bill.
She said: “It is outrageous that the Secretary of State is spending his time trying to help the Lib Dems save face whilst refusing to meet with doctors and nurses who have real concerns about the shambolic Health and Social Care Bill.
“The Prime Minister refused to invite the Royal College of GPs, the Royal College of Nursing and the British Medical Association to a meeting to discuss the dangerous Health and Social Care Bill because he knows they have real concerns about the plans.
“At the same time the Secretary of State is trying to protect Lib Dems with a face saving exercise in the media. During the debate the Secretary of State couldn’t answer questions about what actual changes the Lib Dems wanted.
“The truth is that the Lib Dems have no influence over the plans to overhaul the NHS and are desperately trying to save face now that the public are realising just how dangerous the plans Nick Clegg has been supporting are.
“The Government should take Labour’s advice and drop the Bill immediately.”

Amazing how the woman conveniently forgets that it was her beloved party who caused the problem in the first place by filling the NHS with pen pushers instead of medical requirements.
