A NUMBER of events are being held in Warrington to celebrate International Women’s Day next week.
There will be personal development days, coffee mornings and personal safety workshops in the town centre.
Cheshire Police are taking a leading role in the events.
Young women from the town’s Polish community will be taking part in a personal development day at The Gateway on Monday at the Gateway, Sankey Street, between 7-9pm.
A similar event for young women from the local community will take place at Arpley Street Police Station on Thursday, 9.30am-4.30pm.
The Fairfield and Howley Community Project will host a coffee morning, also on Thursday, from 10am to 12 noon. The event is open to all, but people attending are asked to take a donation in the form of a cake.
A personal safety and well-being day is to be held at the Community Police Post in Warrington town centre on March 17 between 11am and 3pm.
Sergeant Kelly Rooke, of Warrington Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: “We are urging as many women as possible to get involved in International Women’s Day and the events and activities that are taking place across the town.
“This is a great, informal, way for women from across Warrington to meet, have a chat and network.
“The personal safety and well being day at the community police post in the town centre is open to anyone.
“Local officers will be on hand on the day to talk to women, offer personal safety and security advice and security mark any valuable items.”
If anyone would like more information about the events or would like to get involved they should call the Warrington Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0845 458 6379.
