A 19-year-old student has been selected to stand for the Conservatives in the Warrington Borough Council elections in May.
Sam Baxter, a former pupil at St Gregory’s High School and currently studying politics, philosophy and economics at the University of Manchester, will contest the Great Sankey South ward.
He said: “I stood here last year and it is an honour to have been selected to stand in Great Sankey South again on May 3.
“I will commit myself 100 per cent to any issues people raise, to help them and ensure their views are heard.”
Sam is secretary of Warrington Conservative Future (WCF). He is a supporter of local charities and worked as a steward at last year’s Disability Awareness Day in Walton Gardens.
WCF chairman Jonathan Levy said: “Sam brings fresh innovation and ideas. He is a great candidate and I look forward to working with him over the coming months.”
