A WARRINGTON school is celebrating after being rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.
Pupils and staff at Christ Church CE Primary School, Padgate, were thrilled with their report.
Lead inspector Stephen Rowland said: “This is an outstanding school. It has maintained high standards of achievement over recent years and there is absolutely no sign of complacency.”
The report noted that pupils are well behaved, considerate and welcoming and that they take part in a number of activities in the local area.
Early years’ provision is varied and engaging, according to the report, and children work with enjoyment and enthusiasm. The success of this provision is seen to have a critical impact on the success of the whole school. A number of governors are actively involved at this stage and deliver timely support and challenge.
Targets set for pupils are challenging but are usually met or exceeded, gaps in performance have been tackled successfully and equality of opportunity is outstanding. Capacity to improve is also outstanding.
Head teacher Ian Williams said: “My colleagues work very hard to care for, guide and support all of our pupils. We are pleased with this report.”
Cllr Colin Froggatt, executive board member for children and young people’s services at the borough council, said: “I would like to congratulate the head teacher and the whole school community for their continued success. Well done.”
Pupils, parents and carers are reported to all have a very positive view of the school with many commented on how successfully the school has assimilated the large influx of new pupils following the closure of a nearby school.
