THE total of Lymm Rotary Club’s Christmas float collections around the roads of Lymm and Thelwall, Warrington, was a near record of almost £6,000.
“I was astonished”, said club President, John Beard, “especially considering the economic cloud under which everybody is currently suffering.
“Together with our collection for Children in Need, held just a few weeks earlier, the residents of Lymm and Thelwall have donated nearly £6,000 and the Rotary Club is extremely grateful and gives its thanks for their generosity and continued support.
“The money will help the club with its community, national and international projects”.
