Multiple vehicle crash on motorway

EMERGENCY services were called to the M6 near Warrington after a multi-vehicle accident.
Two cars and a heavy lorry pulling a trailer were involved in the collision between junctions 21 and 21A.
Fire crews from Birchwood and Warrington were called to the scene and assisted the ambulance service in checked there were no serious injuries and then made the vehicles safe.
In a separate incident, fire crews from Birchwood and Warrington went to Birchwood railway station to help cool over-heated brakes on a bus and ensure the vehicle was safe before leaving the scene.
Crews from Warrington were called to Chapel Road, Penketh and use a hose reel jet to extinguish a chimney fire. They carried out a home safety assessment at the premises.
