TOWN Hall chiefs at Warrington are inviting people to “get active” by taking part in one or more of a range of sports and dance activities.
The borough council’s Positive Future’s team is encouraging young people – and their parents, to get involved in the programme which launched this week.
There are sessions for all age groups and for families.
On Mondays, from 5-6pm there is free Lads and Dads touch rugby at Soccer Warrington – next to William Beamont Sports College off Long Lane.
Similar sessions are held at Broomfields Leisure Centre, Appleton on Tuesday from 5.30-6.30pm.
There are family Zumba sessions on Wednesdays from 5-6pm at St Albans Primary School at just £1 per person.
Family table tennis is available on Sundays 3-4.30pm at Soccer Warrington at a cost of 50p for children £1 for adults.
Family orienteering takes place on Saturdays 11-12.30pm at Victoria Park starting from February 4 at 50p for children and £1 for adults.
All activities are for children and young people aged 7-16.
Parents or guardians are welcome to take part in any of the activities with their child or to go along and help with the running of the sessions by volunteering.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: “These exciting new fitness sessions give residents of all ages the chance to get active. Why not pop along to one of the sessions and join in the fun – there’s no need to book.”
